  • 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM
  • French Memorial Park, 7753 Martin Mill Pike next to the Howard Pinkston Library

Available for a Weekly Morning Ride?

Try the Country Cruise departing every Tuesday from French Memorial Park at 7753 Martin Mill Pike next to the Howard Pinkston Library.

Location: The ride starting point offers a variety of routes thru Knox, Blount and Sevier counties on mostly rural roads with light vehicle traffic.
Time: Wheels up at 9:00 am (please see below for possible exceptions)
Starting time is adjusted seasonally per temperatures and daylight conditions. Winter rides will happen if starting temps will be at least 40 degrees and starting time will be adjusted if overnight freezing temps result in icy roads
Conversely the heat and humidity of summer will have start times gradually advanced to 7:00 am. Check with the Wheelmen's Facebook group for details posted on the Monday evening prior to the Tuesday ride.
Duration/Format: Winter rides tend to be in the 35 to 45 mile duration. Warm weather routes can range from 45 to 60+ miles. A variety of ride leaders share this no-drop ride. When appropriate, the ride becomes two groups, an A group (faster, more experienced riders) and a 2nd unit (beginners and more casual riders) that can talk when not struggling on up-hill grinds.
Guest riders are welcome, but to have accident insurance coverage SMW membership is required on club rides. (Join the club, annual membership is only $25.)
A helmet and two water bottles are required and no earbuds are allowed during riding.
