Join the Smoky Mountain Wheelmen on June 18, 2016, as we present the 16th Annual Cherohala Challenge.   This year we have a ride for almost everyone.

The event offers four distinctive rides that almost anyone can find a ride that will fit their skill level. We will offer four rides again this year.

We will have the clock again this year to keep track of the time for the rides.  We are offering the Finisher and Dragon Slayer Medals again this year.  Check out all of the Cherohala pages. Click on your ride of choice for more information about that ride.

What’s New This Year

We have a new kit this year.  The color is one that several have requested as you wanted something that would be easily seen on the road. New for this year is the addition of bike shorts for those that prefer them over bibs. This was requested by several of the women last year.  They will be available for men and women.  We need those of you interested in shorts to order them early as there will be very limited supply. They will only be available online.

New for this year as part of registration for those who register early is a pair of socks. Based on the survey we conducted after last year’s event this was very high on the request list.  You can purchase extra pairs if you are interested.

The t-shirt is an optional purchase this year.

For more information about our event clothing and sizing charts, check out our Event Clothing page.

New this year is the addition of the Black Knight jersey for those qualifying as the Black Knight of Cherohala. If you want one start training just as all Knights would.  For more information about the Black Knight jersey and how you can obtain one check out the Black Knight page.

Our FAQs page has additional information to cover some of the questions that you all asked last year.  Take time to look at all our pages and also the FAQs page.

Lodging is available but limited in the area.  If you want to stay close to where the event starts, you will need to book your lodging very soon as the area sold out quickly last year of hotel rooms, cabins, and bed & breakfast.  For more information check out the Lodging page.
